The castle of Vizovice, a small town in the Moravian Walachia, has been built where a Cistercian monastery stood before in 1749 - 1770. Still in the 18th century, during the rule of the Blümegen family, the building has been finished, a French-style garden created, all interiors furnished, and a large collection of works of art established, the latter having been completed also by the Stillfried in the 19th century.

The richly decorated interiors have been furnished with the baroque, rococo, Empire style and Biedermeier furniture and complemented by a considerable number of chinaware of diverse provenance as well as numerous other objects of art. All furnishings are original and in an excellent state of preservation.

The castle´s rarest collection is that of the Dutch painting. In the left wing, the most impressive interior of the Chapel of Assumption can be seen, where the sculptural decor has been created by A. Schweigl (1733 - 1812), a Moravian master of the chisel, whose sculptures can also be found in the castle´s back fasade.
