A war museum was built on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the battle in the middle of the battlefield on the top of Chlum. The telecommunication tower with an observation deck replaced the original observation tower in 1999. From the 34 metre high observation deck there are fantastic views of former battle grounds from 1866, part of the Krkonoše foothills, the Hradec Králové surrounding area, the Železné Mts., the distant Orlické Mts., and under favourable conditions even the peaks of the Krkonoše Mts.
