As a national cultural monument, the Imperial Baths in Karlovy Vary commemorate the golden age of European spa industry and demonstrate the importance and wealth of Karlovy Vary at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with their ornate and rich artistic decoration. The spa building was completed in 1895 and during its hundred years of operation hundreds of thousands of spa guests, as well as important visitors and statesmen, have passed through its walls. At the end of the last century, the spa was closed down, the building was only occasionally used for various social and cultural events and gradually fell into disrepair.

In 2019, the owner of the building, the Karlovy Vary Region, started a complete reconstruction of the Imperial Baths. During the almost four-year restoration, the building was returned to its historical appearance and life returned to the spa. Today you will find a modern museum exhibition focused on the spa industry, but you can also see all the representative areas, including Zander Hall and the historic waiting rooms and rest rooms. A special tour is the Imperial Bath itself - a luxurious bathroom that was built for Emperor Franz Joseph I himself.
