Café Slavia is a traditional cafe in the historical centre of Prague that offers Czech and international cuisine. The menu includes salad, fish and meat specialities. You can try our breakfast menu, which you can order from 8 o clock in the morning, when the Café Slavia opens for you.

We are aware of the history around us; the National Theater, Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle. You can see these sights from your table enjoying a cup of hot coffee or a glass of good wine.

We offer these exclusive premises for holding various social events. We are able to meet the wishes of even the most demanding clients. Our capacity is 680 guests thereof 450 seated when connecting all the facilities of Café Slavia, Restaurant Parnas, Restaurant Jihočeská and Lazansky Pub.

Everyday between 17-23 a professional piano player is on stage with live music for you. This programme is a rarity in Prague.

We are pleased that you support us to create the atmosphere of “the café with a homely atmosphere” and let the “green illusion” of the Absinth Drinker picture take a seat beside you.

Please accept our warm welcome and join in with the celebrities!

Jiří Kolář wrote poems here!
Jiří Grossmann wrote stories here!
Jaroslav Seifert wrote poems here!
Jan Zrzavý inspired himself here!
Jiří Šlitr componed songs here!
Jiří Krampol writes screenplays here!
Vaclav Havel gains strength and energy here!
Viktor Oliva drew an “Absinth Drinker” here!

Could it be also your “cup of tea”? We know that you can’t eat and drink from surroundings, however we are convinced that the good surroundings and atmosphere of the Large Café Slavia are the reason that so many interesting and well-known people come to our Café.

We are number one in Narodni trida street and not only by address. The location by the Moldau River and Narodni trida street makes it possible to observe the whole Czech history from the windows of Café Slavia. We don’t mean only the view of the National Theater, Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle. History creeps round our windows (sometimes even floats on boats, e.g. last floods). From the same windows it was possible to view the laying of the foundation stone of the National Theatre on 16th May 1868, see the funeral procession of T.G. Masaryk on 21st September 1937 or the procession of students during the Velvet Revolution on 17th November 1989. Our guest list looks like a “who is who” of celebrities from all existing spheres.

All of these contribute to the unique “spirit” of Café Slavia. We are pleased that you support us to create the atmosphere of “the café with a homely atmosphere” and let the “green illusion” of the Absinth Drinker picture take a seat beside you.

Come join in along with the celebrities!

You will love the taste of our “coffee”!
