The brewery was a part of the farming establishment and thanks to brewing beer, the financial profits of the estate were increased. The brewery was in the ownership of the Valdsteins until 1814, then the Rohans. Following 1945, it was nationalised. Today the brewery is operated by Pivovar Svijany, a. s. It is expanding and gradually working its way up to becoming one of the largest independent breweries in the CR.
